We do not view architecture as an abstract drawing practice, but as a seamless process progressing from concept to design, from sketch to construction. In our Istanbul-based office, we bring together architectural vision and construction practice, managing the process firsthand, believing that the unique spirit of a design and its detail quality can only be preserved by remaining involved at every stage.
We work knowing that every line in a design will turn into reality; without letting buildability limit our creativity, we push the boundaries of materials and engineering on site to bring our unique design vision to life without compromise.
We design and build at various scales, encompassing corporate, public, residential, and educational buildings. We value the user’s functional needs and dreams, building the process upon a collaborative dialogue and professional consultancy. We transform all these expectations into timeless spaces by filtering them through our rational and aesthetic approach.
Tuğrul Şevik was born in Istanbul in 1992. He completed his undergraduate architecture education at Istanbul Technical University in 2015. He received his master’s degree in Architectural Design from Politecnico di Milano in 2017.
He began his professional career at Hassa Architecture in 2017 and served as a team leader until 2023. During this period, he managed the design and construction processes of large-scale educational, public, and social building projects, including the Marmara University Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Campus, the Istanbul Police Headquarters, and the General Directorate of Foundations. During the same period, his articles were published in various architectural journals, and he was awarded first prize in the “7 Climates 7 Regions” national architectural project competition organized by TOKİ in 2017.
In his architectural approach, the idea that design and construction should not be separated holds an important place. Observing that architectural practice in Turkey is limited to the design phase and that the construction process has turned into an area from which the architect is excluded, he advocates that the architect should also have an active say during the realization of the designed space. In 2024, he took over Inova, an established architectural office, bringing this vision under a corporate roof and repositioning the company as Inova Design & Build.
